Katla Powerful Sorceress Stoned To Death


 "Eyrbyggja Saga" is one of the Icelandic sagas, written in the 13th century and recounting events that took place in Iceland during the Viking Age.

In the saga, Katla is portrayed as a powerful sorceress and cunning woman skilled in the arts of magic and witchcraft. She is known for her ability to manipulate events and people to serve her own interests, often with dark and mysterious methods. Katla is also depicted as a complex character with human desires and vulnerabilities.

Katla's son, Odd, is raised under her influence and inherits some of her supernatural abilities.

Throughout the saga, Katla and Odd become embroiled in various conflicts with other families in the region, often resorting to magical means to achieve their goals. Katla and her son Odd were persecuted and executed by these families. Katla by stoning and Odd was hung.

Their double grave at Gerdrup, north of Roskilde, Denmark was excavated in 1981
